Nigel Adams

Family.

They’re the reason I wake up, get dressed, and drag my lazy ass to school each and every day. They’re the reason I lose countless hours of sleep to finish my work. Family is the most important aspect of my life and, they influence every piece of art I create.

I construct all of my work with the thought in my mind that my family is going to be the ultimate juror, whether or not they like that specific piece is the only thing that matters to me.

I typically enjoy working with people or things in my life that impact my day-to-day activities, the most. When I can successfully produce a project that not only me but the people around me are moved by, then I will be satisfied by my work. I strive to accomplish this very goal, every time I sit down. I like to think that this is what separates me from the rest, my passion for making art that truly makes people think about what they’re seeing. I believe that if you can make a viewer think, even for just a split second, about your piece, you have achieved your ultimate job as an artist.

Move people.

More applicably to me, move the ones I love.
